Who creates Astro Guide content?

Astro Guide horoscopes are written by a small team of professional astrologers who are specialists in areas like compatibility, forecasting, and history.

What’s included in the free version of the app?

All registered, free users will have access to the following features:

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts based on your sun sign
  • Daily self-expression tips based on your rising sign
  • Daily insights on your friends and family who have the app based on their sun signs
  • One (1) breakdown of how two signs match up in work, love, and play

What’s Astro Pro?

You can unlock additional, premium features on Astro Guide by upgrading to Astro Pro for $5.99 / month. With Astro Pro, you’re able to get more from the cosmos by deepening your understanding of the universe. Premium features include:

  • Weekly self-care advice based on your moon sign
  • Daily insights on your crushes, partners, or hookups based on their sun signs
  • In-depth details on your daily forecasts based on your sun sign and advanced astrological concepts
  • Daily insights on your friends and family (including those who don’t have the app) based on their sun signs
  • Unlimited breakdowns of how two signs match up in work, love, and play

Using Astro Guide

Is there an age limit?

In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (“COPPA”) enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”), people under the age of 13 cannot use this app. If this does not apply to you and your account was locked, please contact us at astroguide@vice.com.

How do I download the app?

To download the app:

  1. Find us on the Apple App Store https://itunes.apple.com/app/appName/id1447309497?mt=8
  2. Click “Get”
  3. Verify your Apple ID

How do I create an account?

After our splash screen loads, please:

  1. Click “Find My Sun Sign”
  2. Select the sun sign you identify with based on your birthday
  3. Click “Select Sign”
  4. Click “Get Started”
  5. Register using one of the three options listed:
    - Connect with your Facebook account
    - Connect with your Google account
    - Sign-up with e-mail and password. Here, confirm your e-mail address through an automated e-mail message
  6. (Optional) Enter your phone number
  7. Enter a name we should call you

Why do I need to select my sun sign?

Your sun sign determines your daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts. It is commonly the answer to “What’s your sign?” and, more specifically, it represents the zodiac constellation that the sun was in at the time you were born.

Why do I need to enter my phone number?

Providing your phone number is optional, but doing so allows you to find friends who have the app and unlock daily insights on their thoughts and feelings based on their sun signs.

Why do I need to enter my name?

Whatever name you select will be what we’ll call you on the app and no one will see it.

How do I discover my moon and rising signs?

Your moon sign determines your weekly self-care advice and represents the zodiac constellation that the moon was in at the time you were born. Your rising sign determines your daily self-expression tips and represents the zodiac constellation rising on the eastern horizon at the time you were born. To accurately calculate these elements of your astrological profile, we require entry of your birthplace and birth time.

To enter such details and discover your moon and rising signs:

  1. Enter the main dashboard
  2. Find the moon and rising widget
  3. Click “Get Started”
  4. Enter your birthday and click “Next”
  5. Confirm your birthday and click “Confirm”
  6. Enter your birthplace and click “Next”
  7. Enter your birth time and click “Next”

NOTE: If do not know your exact birthplace or birth time, we have default estimates to use.

How do I follow, add, or invite a friend or lover?

To unlock daily insights on your friends or lovers based on their sun signs, you can either:

  • Follow those who have the app, OR
  • Manually add their name and birthday

NOTE: Free users can only follow friends who have the app. The ability to manually add friends and follow or manually add lovers is limited to Astro Pro subscribers.

To follow a friend or lover:

  1. From the main dashboard, click the leftmost navigation icon at the bottom of the screen
  2. Click “+ Friends” or “+ Lovers”
  3. Click “Add from contacts”
  4. Allow access to your contacts to see who has the app
  5. Click “Follow” next to the friend or lover who you want to follow

To manually add a friend or lover:

  1. From the main dashboard, click the leftmost navigation icon at the bottom of the screen
  2. Click “+ Friends” or “+ Lovers”
  3. Click “Add manually”
  4. Enter name
  5. Select sign

NOTE: Upon following or manually adding a friend or lover, daily insights on their thoughts and feelings based on their sun signs will populate within the main dashboard.

To invite a friend or lover:

  1. From the main dashboard, click the leftmost navigation icon at the bottom of the screen
  2. Click “+ Friends” or “+ Lovers”
  3. Click “Add from contacts”
  4. Click “Invite” next to the friend or lover who you want to invite

How do I remove or edit a friend or lover?

To remove a friend or lover:

  1. From the main dashboard, click the leftmost navigation icon at the bottom of the screen
  2. Swipe left on the name of friend or lover you want to remove

To edit information of a manually added friend or lover:

  1. Delete the friend
  2. Re-add the friend with the correct information

How do I use the compatibility spinner?

To use the compatibility spinner and see how two signs relate in work, love, and play:

  1. From the main dashboard, click the rightmost navigation icon at the bottom of the screen
  2. Line up the two signs you would like to match
  3. Click “Check Compatibility”
  4. Click “Read More” to view extended details

How do I upgrade to Astro Pro?

To upgrade to Astro Pro:

  1. From the main dashboard, click your name at the bottom of the screen
  2. Click “Manage Membership”
  3. Click “Start My Trial” if you have not yet used your free 7-day trial, or “Upgrade $5.99 per Month” if you have
  4. Confirm purchase Apple password and payment information through Apple

NOTE: Free users can also access the “Start My Trial” or “Upgrade” entry point by clicking on premium features throughout the app.

Account Settings

How do I update my account details?

To update or change account details:

  1. From the main dashboard, click your name at the bottom of the screen
  2. Click “Edit Profile” in the top right corner of the screen
  3. Update, add, or change details including name, birth information, phone number, and password.

How do I manage my notifications?

To turn notifications on or off:

  1. Go to your phone’s general Settings app
  2. Click Notifications
  3. Select Astro Guide
  4. Toggle the Allow Notifications setting

How do I reset my password?

If you have forgotten your password:

  1. Click “Forgot Password?” on log-in screen
  2. Follow instructions delivered in an email sent to your registered email address
  3. Return to the app and log-in using your new password

Subscription Settings

What payment methods do you accept?

All purchases are billed to the payment method that you designate when you create an Apple ID.

When will I be charged?

Your first charge will occur upon upgrade or after your 7-day trial expires. You will then be charged every 30 days thereafter.

Where can I check my subscription status?

To check your subscription status:

  1. From the main dashboard, click your name at the bottom of the screen
  2. View the detail listed next to “Manage Membership”

To check your subscription status:

  1. Open “Settings” on your iPhone
  2. Click “[Your Name]”
  3. Click “iTunes & App Store”
  4. Click your Apple ID at the top of the screen, and then tap “View Apple ID”
  5. Scroll to “Subscriptions”, and then click it

Does the cancellation go into effect immediately?

If you cancel before the billing period ends, you will be charged for the full billing period. You will have access to premium features until your billing period ends.

NOTE: Your billing period consists of the 30 days after you’re charged.

How do I get a refund?

There are no refunds for unused portions of your subscription. You will have access to premium features until your billing period ends.

How can I update my credit card details?

To update your credit card details:

  1. Open “Settings” on your iPhone
  2. Click “[Your Name]”
  3. Click “iTunes & App Store”
  4. Click your Apple ID at the top of the screen, and then tap “View Apple ID”
  5. Click “Payment Information”, and then change or remove your information

I deleted the app from my device. Does that mean my subscription is canceled?

No. Your Apple ID will continue to be billed. Your can cancel your subscription through iTunes on a Mac or PC.

When will I be charged?

What should I do if I’m having trouble accessing Astro Guide?

Please troubleshoot using the following methods:

  • Exit the app and relaunch to see if the issue persists
  • Check if you’re connected to the internet via cellular or wi-fi and that the connection is working properly
  • Make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of the app by updating in the App Store or deleting and re-downloading the app
  • Reboot your device
  • Check that you’re using the correct email address to log-in and reset your password if you do not remember it

I haven’t received any Astro Guide emails. What should I do?

Check your spam inbox to make sure the emails haven’t been routed there by mistake. To ensure that you can receive emails from us, add us to your address book. If you are still not receiving emails, please contact us at astroguide@vice.com.

How can I unsubscribe from receiving Astro Guide emails?

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link that’s included at the bottom of every e-mail. If you’re having trouble unsubscribing via that link, please send a message to astroguide@vice.com with “Unsubscribe me from Astro Guide” in the subject line.

How do I delete my account?

Contact us at astroguide@vice.com and we will delete your account.
